Unlike the American Shrimp Cocktail, the Spanish Cóctel de Gambas and the English Prawn Cocktail typically feature avocado. This recipe is a hybrid of all of the above. My version of the Marie Rose sauce is Homemade Mayo made using Alton Brown's Party Mayo recipe with some ketchup, hot sauce, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce & lemon juice, sitting atop half an avocado.
