Notes From the Test Kitchen: Trader Joe's Chili Sauces

I recently read and article on the Cook's Illustrated website that touted three must-try Trader Joe's Sauces. A friend was kind enough to pick up two of them for us in the big city. They are TJ's Chili Onion Crunch and Italian Bomba Hot Pepper Sauce.

They are both a great addition to your pantry staples. The Italian Bomba is 🌶 hot, 🌶 hot, 🌶 hot so use very sparingly. The Chile Crunch is ok. Not too hot, and you can taste the onion, but it's more like dehydrated crispy onion flavour. I may have to do a taste test with the original Momofuku Chili Crunch by David Chang. I still end up putting it in all kinds a sauces and stews for a little extra "je ne sais quoi" (literally 😂, I'm not sure why).

They are, however, both great on fresh, homemade baguettes!
